Cooking with Kids – Spaghetti Dogs

My son is just getting to the age where he likes to pick out his own food and help get it ready.  He already has his own shelf in the pantry and is learning his way around the kitchen.  Last night we decided to have a little fun and poke raw spaghetti noodles through pieces of hot dogs to make Spaghetti Dogs!  (served with a side of ketchup, of course) 😉  He had a blast and I now have amazing memories. 🙂  Enjoy!

Spaghetti Dogs

spaghetti dogsA super fun meal that kids can help create!

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 hot dogs, sliced into 1″ pieces
  • 1 box spaghetti

Directions:

Heat large pot of water until boiling.

While water is heating up, take hard spaghetti and poke it through hot dog pieces (like a skewer).  Use about 5 pieces per hot dog slice and continue until all pieces are done.  When water is ready, boil all spaghetti dogs together for about 10 minutes.

Drain & serve with ketchup or marinara sauce.
