I love to have smoothies for breakfast or lunch and, being a Floridian, I love key limes in everything but especially Key Lime Pie. Now I can’t have Key Lime Pie everyday but this smoothie tastes so much like it that is satisfies my cravings in a healthy and less caloric way. Yay!
Key Lime Smoothie
- 1 6-oz key lime yogurt (see below on how to make your own from vanilla yogurt)
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon key lime juice
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 Tablespoon Chia powder (optional)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
Add all ingredients into blender and combine well. Garnish with slice of lime if desired.
Note: If you can’t find Key Lime Yogurt make some of your own. Using a 6-oz container of vanilla nonfat yogurt, add 1-1/2 teaspoon lime juice, 1/2 teaspoon lime zest and, if too tart for you, add in 1/2 package Stevia. Stir and voila – Key Lime Yogurt!
