Go Argentinean with Ben Marco Malbec

2010 Ben Marco MalbecI love Malbecs with their intense flavors and earthy aromas that seem to characterize the regions where they originated. Flavors of blackberry, earth, smoke, pepper and leather seem to dominate.  A great wine for just about any International cuisine – Mexican, Cajun, Indian, Italian and good ole American barbecue.

This 2010 Ben Marco Malbec was grown in the Mendoza area of Argentina and contains 90% Malbec and 10% Bonarda, giving this wine more structure than others of its kind and lending it a Cabernet-like taste.

The deep, dark red color of this wine hints at the aromas of black cherry and spice as well as earthy minerals, leather and tobacco that are found upon opening. It is a lush, full bodied wine with a bright acidity that reveals intense flavors of currant, plum and black cherry with just a hint of mocha. Definitely stock up on this Malbec that will age well over the next 5 years.

Note: Let breathe at least 1 hour prior to sipping.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with grilled meats such as steaks and pork loin, veal and medium to strong cheeses.

Price Range: $12.97-$17.99
