Easy Red White and Bleu Burgers are the perfect addition to your Memorial Day BBQ. A juicy hamburger, spicy jalapenos & bleu cheese topping are a sure hit!
Mix ground beef with onion, jalapenos, garlic, Worcestershire sauce.
Divide into 4 portions. Form into patties, making sure to mold it enough for the meat to stick together.
Once made, form a small depression in the center of each patty to keep the hamburger from puffing up into a round ball during grilling.
Chill hamburgers until ready to cook.
Preheat grill to medium high.
Season burgers with salt and pepper and grill for about 9-11 minutes for medium doneness, turning only once halfway through.
Sprinkle blue cheese on the top of hot burgers and remove immediately to platter.
If you prefer your hamburger buns toasted on the grill, when there is about 4 minutes left, slice them in half and put face down on grill. You can pick them up from time to time to check on them as they can char rather quickly.
To serve: Lay bun open on plate. Place cheeseburger on the bottom of hamburger bun. On the top of bun, place a little lettuce and a nice slice of tomato. If you have a decorative toothpick with a blue top, stick through tomato to make it a special 4th of July presentation.

Tips for grilling the best burgers
The best burgers are made of ground beef no leaner than 85%. It's the fat inside the meat that makes it juicier and gives the hamburger more flavor.
Do not add salt into the meat mixture as that will tend to dry them out while sitting in the refrigerator. Instead sprinkle on just prior to grilling.
When forming patties, wet your hands to prevent the meat sticking to them.
Make patties about ¾" thick to help the burger retain more moisture.
After the patty is formed, make a shallow indentation in center, about 1" wide. This will help to avoid the burger puffing up and becoming a round ball. Doesn't fit too well on the bun that way for sure!
Chill burgers in the refrigerator and cook them when cold. This is particularly helpful for the perfectly cooked medium hamburger.
Cook burgers on a medium high heat grill and turn only once! It usually takes a total of about 9-11 minutes.
