This easy Red White and Blue Salad is a refreshing side for patriotic BBQs and summer picnics. Blueberries, strawberries, feta & greens are tossed with almonds and sprinkled with a light honey citrus vinaigrette that really makes this berry salad a standout!

Salad Dressing

  • 1/4 cup light extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 3 Tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • 5 oz mixed greens
  • 6 oz blueberries
  • 8 oz strawberries quartered
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 4 oz feta cheese crumbled
  • Salt & pepper


Citrus Vinaigrette

  1. Whisk all salad dressing ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.

Berry Salad

  1. In a large bowl, combine greens, strawberries, blueberries and almonds.

  2. Sprinkle feta cheese on top and toss together.

  3. Drizzle with citrus vinaigrette just prior to serving.

Recipe Notes

How to change it up and make this salad your own

Add walnuts or pecans instead of the almonds. Or go all out and top with candied pecans or crispy roasted chickpeas. 

Add a small amount of mint for a more refreshing edge.

Try shredded coconut for a more tropical flavor.

Try switching out the strawberries and blueberries for raspberries and blackberries.

Make it a lunch by topping the salad with rotisserie chicken, shrimp or baked/fried fish.
