In a medium bowl, combine first 6 ingredients.
In another bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and whisk until just incorporated.
Heat waffle iron.
Pour ½ -¾ cup onto hot iron depending on the size of your waffle iron. Mine takes almost ¾ cup but I have a large Belgian waffle iron.
Cook for 4 minutes.
Place cooked waffle into oven directly onto rack. continue cooking the remaining waffles.
Serve with butter and syrup and your favorite toppings such as fruit and nuts.

Notes

These waffles reheat well in a toaster or toaster oven for a quick breakfast.

Tips for Making the Perfect Waffles Every Time

Use a good waffle iron that reaches the high temperature waffles need to crisp up. Follow the instructions on your waffle maker for the best advice on cook time.
Do not overmix ingredients! Mix just until incorporated. Overmixing will cause the flour to turn to gluten creating a chewy rather than light, fluffy waffle.
For lighter waffles, separate egg. The yolks will be added to batter as stated in the instruction and the white will be beaten until stiff peaks form and folded in at the end of the mixing.
Using a preheated oven as the waffles are finished cooking will ensure that they get that crispy exterior. It's like toasting the waffles for that extra crunch.
