brown sugar (light or dark)

water
Instructions
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Bring to a simmer and stir just until the sugar has dissolved. Do not let it boil!
Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool completely.
Pour into a mason or other type of jar with a tight-fitting lid and store for up to 1 month.

HOW TO MAKE THICK BROWN SUGAR SYRUP
Choose between these two ways:
Continue to cook the syrup until it reaches a thicker consistency.
Use a 2:1 ratio of brown sugar to water (2 parts brown sugar and 1 part water).
