Rich, fudgy Guinness Brownies made with brownie mix and topped with creamy Guinness buttercream. An easy, chocolatey dessert perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or anytime.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray a 8x8-inch pan with cooking spray. Line with parchment paper and spray again. Let it extend up the side to help with easy removal after baking.
In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients with a spoon until fully incorporated.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool in dish then remove by lifting the parchment paper. Brownies are done when toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Frosting
Combine all frosting ingredients and mix well with a standard mixer or a spoon. Add the additional tablespoon of Guinness if the frosting is too thick. If the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Spread on cooled brownies then cut into squares.
