Slow Cooker Beer Braised Short Ribs are a one pot, quick and easy dinner for the cold weather ahead. The fall off the bone, tender beef will melt in your mouth and the rich, flavorful sauce will have you begging for more.
12ozbeerdark or opt for a gluten free beer if needed
½sweet onioncut into thin wedges
¼cupmolasses
2tablespoonsbalsamic vinegar
1teaspoonbottled hot pepper sauceoptional
½teaspoonsalt
Few twists of fresh ground pepperif not using hot sauce
3-4fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
Using your slow cooker option on your Instant Pot or just your crockpot, place the ribs into the bottom.
Add sliced onions.
Pour in beer and beef stock.
Add molasses and balsamic vinegar and pepper sauce, if using.
Sprinkle in salt, pepper and lay thyme leaves on top.
Cover with lid and cook on high for 5-½-6 hours or on low for 11-12 hours.
When done remove beef short ribs with slotted spoon to a serving plate. Discard thyme sprigs.
Serve with beef gravy on the side.
Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
