Ingredients and Their Part in the Dinner

Each ingredient brings its own flavor and texture to make this dinner deliciously satisfying. From crispy coating to tender veggies, it all works together beautifully. This is what you'll need:

Sheet pan chicken and veggies ingredients.
    • Chicken breasts - Lean, tender, and perfect for soaking up Italian seasoning and Parmesan flavor.
    • Panko - Creates that light, crispy coating that makes the chicken irresistible.
    • Grated Parmesan cheese - Adds salty, nutty richness and helps the crust turn golden.
    • Olive oil - Helps everything roast beautifully and makes a smooth, savory base.
    • Italian seasoning - Brings classic herb flavor that ties the whole dish together.
    • Minced garlic - Adds a savory depth to both the chicken and vegetables.
    • Cherry tomatoes - Roast down into juicy little bursts of sweetness.
    • Broccoli florets - Tender-crisp and slightly charred around the edges.
    • Frozen steak fries - Easy, hearty potatoes that bake up golden and crispy right alongside everything else.

How to Make a Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sheet Pan Dinner

This recipe is as simple as prep, coat, and roast. Everything cooks together for a full meal on one pan. Here's what to do:

How to make sheet pan chicken and potatoes.
    1. In a small bowl, combine all the vegetable seasoning ingredients - olive oil, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese. Toss halved tomatoes and broccoli florets in the seasoning until well coated. Set aside.
    2. Combine the chicken seasoning, olive oil, Italian seasoning and minced garlic in a wide-mouthed bowl. Mix the panko and the Parmesan cheese in another bowl or flat plate. Cut the chicken in half lengthwise.
    3. Dip each of the chicken strips in the chicken seasoning.
    4. Immediately dip in the panko-cheese mixture, patting to help them adhere.
    5. Place on the parchment-lined baking sheets.
    6. Scatter the veggies and the steak fries around the chicken. Make sure they are laying flat and there is room around each of the ingredients so they roast instead of steaming.

Bake for 40 minutes at 425°F or until the chicken registers an internal temperature of 165°F. Garnish with some chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Recipe Variations to Make It Your Own

One of the best things about this dinner is how flexible it is. You can easily swap ingredients to fit your taste or what's in your fridge.

    • Chicken - Use cutlets for a shorter cooking time, or thighs, drumsticks, or legs for a richer flavor and slightly longer bake time.
    • Cheese - Swap Parmesan for Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, or Asiago for a different cheesy twist.
    • Panko - Try crushed crackers like Ritz, Club, Saltines, or even Goldfish for a fun flavor change.
    • Add Meat - Add sliced Italian sausage links for extra protein and bold flavor.
    • Veggies - Substitute broccoli with Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, chickpeas, green beans, mushrooms, or peppers.
    • Potatoes - Swap steak fries for sweet potato fries or quartered new or red potatoes.
