Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons salted butter
- 2 pounds stew beef or cubed chuck roast
- 1 Tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 large yellow onion chopped
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 4 Tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or rosemary)
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- Garnish: parsley
Instructions
- Add the oil and butter to the Instant Pot and press Sauté. Once hot, add ⅓ of the stew beef in a single layer and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon steak seasoning. Cook until seared, about 5 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Repeat 2 more times with remaining beef and seasoning. Add more oil if the pot becomes too dry.
