Chocolate Chip peanut Butter Cookies | 2 Cookin Mamas Is it a chocolate chip cookie with peanut butter chips or a chocolate peanut butter cookie with chocolate chips! It's both - a Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie! #recipe

Have you ever had one of those days when you couldn't decide what to bake? Well, I had one of those days! I couldn't decide between a chocolate chip cookie or a peanut butter cookie, plus I had a chocolate craving that just wouldn't quit. So it seemed like a no-brainer to just combine the two cookies and get the best of both worlds.

But I didn't stop there. No siree! I decided to put peanut better chips & M&Ms in the chocolate chip dough side and chocolate chips & M&Ms in the peanut butter side. Boy, did that ever make a difference! These are rich, decadent cookies that will please the chocolate chip cookie lovers and the peanut butter cookie lovers with no problem.

The only hard part is waiting for the dough to chill for about 3 hours before being able to bake and eat them. But believe me, they are well worth the wait! I couldn't wait to take a bite, as you can see, while they were still warm, and then I had to pack them up and send them into work with the hubs just to keep me from eating the entire 3 dozen! (where they got a hands down delicious seal of approval)

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with silpat, parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip dough

    • In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda & salt. Set aside.

    • Gradually add flour mixture in until combined. Stir in peanut butter chips & M&Ms. Set aside.

    • Wrap each dough separately and chill for about 3 hours.

    To mix:

    • Take about 1 tablespoon of chocolate dough and roll in ball. It is easier to do a number of the chocolate dough balls together as you will need to wash your hands before doing the plain chocolate chip dough.
    • Take 1 Tablespoon of chocolate chip cookie dough and form into ball. Make a number of these before going on to next step.
    • Combine 2 halves together and roll into a ball. Place on cookie sheets about 2" apart. Clean hands as necessary in-between rolling balls.
    • Bake in oven 11-12 minutes. Remove and let cool on cookie sheets. Store in tightly covered tin for 1-2 weeks.
