Ingredients
- Apples - any type of crispy apple will work but Granny Smith with their complementary tartness are my favorite.

- Unflavored gelatin - is the glue that holds the caramel center together
- Bourbon - use your favorite or sub in apple juice or cider for a kid-friendly treat
- Condensed Milk - sweetens this treat
How to Make Caramel Apple Shots in Apple Slices
- Prepare the apples by cutting the apples in half then, using a small round scooper or measuring spoon, scoop out the apple. Keep at least ¼" of the apple above the peel. Do NOT cut out the bottom of the apple.
- Sprinkle lemon juice on the exposed apple edge to prevent browning
- Place apples firmly into a muffin tin so that they don’t topple.
- In a small saucepan, sprinkle the gelatin on top of the bourbon. Allow the gelatin to bloom for two minutes.
- Whisk the bourbon and gelatin together, and place on low heat. Continue to stir until the gelatin fully dissolves.
- Once, dissolved, remove from heat. Whisk in the condensed milk and caramel sauce then pour into the hollowed-out apples.
- Chill in the fridge for a minimum of 4 hours to fully set.
- Use a sharp knife to smoothly cut the apple slices and serve.
