A Hot Fireball Apple Cider Cocktail is just what you need when the weather turns cold. Wrap your hands around a mug of apple cider, Fireball whiskey, vanilla vodka and a little sugar to take the chill off. Simple to make, delicious to sip and a great cocktail to serve for the holidays.
I don't know about you but I love apple cider! I love to drink it, hence my Apple Cider Margarita, Hot Spiked Apple Cider, and Apple Cider Sangria.
I love to bake with it too. Just take a look at my Apple Cider Pound Cake, Apple Cider Doughnuts and Apple Cider Cookies and you'll see what I mean.
This cider cocktail came about form a trip I recently took to Maine. The weather was so chilly, and I was so cold, that I ordered a hot apple cider, spiced with cinnamon, to warm up.
It was so good and worked so well that I had to share my version with all of you. Believe me, y'all will thank me when winter comes calling.
This drink is super easy to make too and the flavors of the apple cider and cinnamon work amazingly well together. You can make this either by the mugful, for those quiet evenings at home, or by the pitcher for your next get-together.
Just warm the cider and add the remaining ingredients. I like to add slices of apple to mine and a cinnamon stick for stirring. It's also pretty when garnished with anise stars.
This cinnamon apple cocktail is great hot or cold too! A hot cocktail will warm you up on chilly fall or winter days, while a serving poured over a glass of ice is the perfect drink of summer BBQs. Of course, you need to try it both ways and see which is your favorite. 🙂
Variations
- Don't have cider? No problem! You can pair Fireball with coca cola, hot chocolate, coffee, orange juice, ginger beer and even carrot juice.
- Don't have Fireball whiskey? You can pair apple cider with rum, bourbon or vodka.
- Like a little sparkle in your cocktail? Top it off with 7-up, ginger ale, sprite or go all out with a touch of Prosecco.
How to make a Fireball Cider Cocktail
- Gather the simple ingredients - apple cider, Fireball Whiskey (or any cinnamon flavored whiskey), vanilla vodka and some sugar. The sugar isn't necessary and can be switched with honey but the sweetness really adds a dimension to the overall drink.
- Pour apple cider into a tall mug, about 6 ounces works well.
- Add a jigger (1-½ oz) of whiskey. Doesn't that smell wonderful?
- Add a jigger (1-½ oz) of vanilla vodka.
- Finish it off with a teaspoon or less of sugar. Stir well.
Once you taste a sip of this amazing fireball apple cider cocktail, not only will you be warmer but you'll want to make it again and again! I'm planning on serving it to guests on Thanksgiving while I prepare the meal. And it will definitely be on my menu for any Christmas get-togethers. Enjoy!
