Our easy sangria can be ready for your next backyard BBQ or holiday celebration in a matter of minutes. It has just 3 ingredients, an inexpensive red wine, lemon-lime soda & sliced fruit like oranges, lemons, limes and berries. See easy! It may just become your new favorite go-to wine cocktail.
I love throwing backyard parties for summer holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Of course, that entails a lot of work that can keep me pretty busy.
If I don't plan it out ahead of time, I feel that by the time everything is ready and I'm set to relax and enjoy my company, it's time for everyone to leave. However, sangrias, like my Sunshine Sangria, Watermelon Sangria and this 3 ingredient Easy Sangria, eases the burden of some of the prep and they taste delicious too. They also make a great centerpiece for a bar setup.
Easy Sangria is a money-saver for a party
It's also a great money saver when purchasing liquor for a large crowd. It stretches a bottle of wine to serve about twice as many people and the ability to use a little cheaper blend is a big plus. Of course, it looks bright and cheery too after the fresh fruit has been added, just like a burst of color from summer flowers.
One bottle of wine will make about 8 1-glass servings and, by keeping any extra bottle of wine and sprite chilled, you can whip up another pitcher in just a few minutes. And sangria is a great all-around cocktail. People that are white wine drinkers love it as well as red wine lovers.
Wondering what glass to serve it in? I like to use a red wine glass for this particular sangria but you could also use a martini glass or an old-fashioned glass.
What to serve sangria with? Well, it goes great with just about any meal you can think of except those leaning towards the sweet side. Think more along the lines of spicy, like Spanish, Tex-Mex and Thai dishes. Or try it with nice grilled, seared or pan-fried seafood.
Enjoy!

Hi! Can you use Carlo Rossi sangria?
Linda Warren says
No, bought sangria already has all the ingredients that make a sangria including a sweetener and fruits or fruit-flavor. Stick with merlot, malbec, pinto noir or zinfandel for the chilled red wine.
Amy says
I bought sweet red wine. You think that will be okay? Also should I make night before or is it okay same day?! Thanks!
Linda Warren says
Sangria is best with a dry but slightly fruity wine. I think it will be too sweet with the Sprite and the fruit added. As to making it ahead of time, I would chill the wine and Sprite then throw it together at the last minute. However, the fruit can be sliced ahead of time so its ready to be dropped into the sangria.

Love the idea. I’m the MOH for my bestfriends wedding and also planning her Bridal shower. This recipe is perfect!
Linda Warren says
Yay! Congrats to the bride and I'm sure you'll put together the perfect shower.

It’s not sangria, it’s a wine spritzer. Still easy but not sangria.
Linda Warren says
It may not technically be a straight-up sangria but it's very similar to a sparkling sangria. I just lightened it up alcohol-wise with a lemon lime soda rather than champagne and omitted the brandy or triple sec. No matter what it is called, it really is the perfect refreshment come summertime.
Isabella says
what type of red wine did you use
Linda Warren says
Hi Isabella! I usually use a malbec or pinot noir as they are a little lighter and pair well with the fruit. You could also use a merlot or a red zinfandel. Hope you enjoy!
