    Fruity and Refreshing Lemonade

Summer’s hot days are perfect for lemonade. Its tart and tangy flavors are totally thirst-quenching. So why not take it up a notch by adding some additional fruit. You get away with less sugar and you add another level of fresh fruit flavor to the mix.

In this case, I decided to make frozen mango lemonade by using frozen fruit. This results in an immediate slushie that is perfect for poolside or your next barbecue. Any left over can be stored in the fridge for a fruity all natural lemonade for later. And if you love lemonade in all its forms, try my Peach Lemonade and Strawberry Lemonade too.

    How to Make Mango Lemonade

    Steps to make lemonade mixture.

    Recipe Variations

Add fruit to make tasty flavor combinations. Just add ½ cup of any of these fruits:

    • Coconut Milk
    • Kiwi
    • Peach
    • Pineapple
    • Pomegranate Juice
    • Raspberry
    • Strawberry
    • Watermelon

Fresh Mango Lemonade: Use fresh mango instead of frozen.

Substitute limes for lemons and make Mango Limeade.

Use tea instead of water. Both black tea and green tea will work.

Spiked Mango Lemonade: Add a shot of vodka, rum, or tequila to a glass to make a tasty cocktail.

    How to Serve

Pour mango lemonade over ice in a tall glass. You can garnish it with a lemon slice and fresh mint if desired. Serve it with a straw, a colorful one for fun.

    How to Store and Freeze

Keep mango lemonade in a covered pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. It may separate so stir or shake it before serving.

Freeze portions in freezer-safe containers or plastic freezer bags. It will last up to 3 months in the freezer. Thaw it in the fridge overnight.

You can also freeze it in ice cube trays to use for smoothies or make mango lemonade popsicles.

    • Medium Saucepan

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup fresh lemon juice, about 5-6 lemons
    • 6 cups water
    • ¾ cup sugar (add more or less for your desired amount of sweetness)
    • 3 cups frozen chopped mango

    Instructions

    • Place lemon juice, 1 cup water, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. It will just be lukewarm and will not come to a boil.
    • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add the remaining 5 cups of water.
    • Place ¼ to ½ of the lemonade into a blender, depending on its size. Add ¼ to ½ of the frozen mango. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large pitcher and repeat with the remaining ingredients.
    • Taste for sweetness. Add more sugar if desired. Start with a little as you can always add more but you can't take any out.
    • Serve immediately over ice with a slice of lemon and a colorful straw or cover and store in the refrigerator.
