Pumpkin Spice Latte
Hey y’all! I meant to get this post out on Wednesday, then Thursday, well, you get the idea, but moving has really put a crimp in my schedule. Who knew having to pack a whole house that we’ve been in for 38 years could be so disrupting. lol
Anyhoo, I had to get this yummy “everything pumpkin spice” recipe out to you. It’s the perfect beverage for right now, when it feels like it should be fall but it’s hot as blazes outside. It’s got caffeine to give you that much-needed morning boost, it’s cool and it’s full of fall flavor. And if you aren’t into pumpkin spice yet, you will be after one sip of this iced latte.
I added a little special twist to everyone’s favorite Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, a packet of hot cocoa! I’m a firm believer in chocolate at any time of day. After all, who wouldn’t like a bit of chocolate to start their day. This recipe is super simple to make. I made it over ice and stirred but it would be easier to mix the hot espresso and cocoa together then stir in remaining ingredients and pour over ice. Of course, it wouldn’t look nearly as pretty but it would taste just as awesome!
How to Make Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte with Cocoa
- Pour hot coffee over ice. (photo 1)
- Add sweetener to your liking. (photo 2)
- Pour in hot cocoa mix. (photo 3)
- Add pumpkin puree. (photo 4)
- Stir well. (photo 5)
- Add milk slowly if you want to get a nice layered effect. (photo 6)
Since this latte only takes two tablespoons to make, I like to keep some other recipes in my back pocket to use it up. Of course, you could just have one of these every day for the week and you won’t have to worry about leftovers! 🙂

- 2 oz espresso or strong coffee I brew a 4-oz cup in my Keurig and use half
- 1 packet hot cocoa mix (use dairy-free version if necessary. I like either Coconut Cloud or Castle Kitchen
- 2 Tablsepoons pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 2-3 teaspoons agave
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
- 1/2 - 1 cup of your preferred milk depending on your strength preference (I used almond milk)
- Mix hot coffee and hot cocoa mix together. Stir.
- Add remaining ingredients except milk and stir.
- Pour over ice.
- Add milk slowly if you want to get a nice layered effect.
