A tropical cocktail that is sure to have you thinking of island getaways. Our South Beach Punch is an effervescent combination of coconut rum, curacao and sparkling orange juice.
I'm so happy football season is here and I'm ready to root on my team! In fact, I'm so into football that I've joined a group of 60 football foodies, all who love football as much as I do, to bring you some great tailgating recipes. After all, what's football without food (and a drink or two)?
You might have guessed from looking at the colorful South Beach Punch I'm bringing you today just what team I'm representing. OK, well the name might have given it away too. 🙂 Yep, it's the Miami Dolphins, or the Fins as we like to call them. And I couldn't think of anything more appropriate than a tropical cocktail done in the team colors of teal and orange. Of course, the colors are also a reflection of the art deco district of South Beach, so the name seemed pretty appropriate.
This cocktail is easy to throw together and tastes like a little bit of the islands with its coconut rum base and orange-flavored curacao. If you're not into sparkling juices, you can add orange juice in lieu of the carbonated beverage or opt for orange soda, although that might be a little on the sweet side. Garnish it with orange slices and an orange sugar rim for the prettiest rockin' cocktail at the party.
However you decide to make it, it is sure to taste great with any of the appetizers that our group has put together below. Now it's time to go cheer on my team. Go Fins!
SOUTH BEACH PUNCH
- 2 jiggers curacao
- 4 jiggers coconut rum
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
- 4 jiggers Bai Bubbles Jamaica Blood Orange Sparkling Antioxidant Infusion or other orange sparkling juice or soda
- Garnish: orange sugar for rim, sliced oranges
- Color sugar with a mix of red & yellow food coloring. Place on a large flat plate.
- Rub rim of martini glasses with slice of lime then dip in orange sugar. Fill with crushed ice.
- Mix all ingredients together and divide between glasses.
