    Grapefruit Cocktail Recipes

Even if you don't think you're a big fan of grapefruit, you'll be surprised at how much you enjoy a grapefruit juice cocktail. All you need is a few more fun ingredients to make it taste better, like Grand Marnier, vodka, lime juice, and some simple syrup!

It's pretty easy to impress guests at your next party! All it takes is the right drinks. A ruby red martini is as popular and easy to make as Sparkling Pink Greyhound and Sea Breeze Cocktail.

Why You'll Love This Grapefruit Martini Recipe

The best thing about this grapefruit martini recipe is how easy it is! Since there are just five ingredients, it's easy to make a reliably delicious drink every single time.

Plus, you can take my recipe and make a few little changes! Try it with basil, Absolut grapefruit vodka, or add a splash of champagne for some bubbles!

No matter what, this is a fancy and fun drink to serve at celebrations, like bridal showers, brunch, or getting together with friends.

    Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

    • Grapefruit Juice - Fresh squeezed is best. You can use ruby red grapefruit juice, pink grapefruit juice, or white grapefruit juice.
    • Lime Juice - Fresh squeezed is best.

How to Make a Grapefruit Martini

    Steps to make cocktail.
    1. Pour vodka into a cocktail shaker.
    2. Add grapefruit juice.
    3. Pour in lime juice.

    Shaking and pouring martini.
    1. Add ice to the cocktail shaker then shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
    2. Strain into a martini glass.
    Adding garnish to finished drink.

Garnish with a cocktail pick holding slices of orange, lime, and grapefruit or a slice of any of the three.

As an option, you can rim the martini glass with sugar or salt. Just dip the edge of the glass in grapefruit juice or run a slice of grapefruit around the rim. Then dip it into salt or sugar. Cheers!

    Recipe Variations

    • Mocktail (Virgin) - Substitute vodka and Grand Marnier with orange juice.
    • Champagne Grapefruit Martini - Top off the martini with a splash of champagne or sparkling wine.
    • Grapefruit Gin Martini - Substitute vodka with gin.
    • Grapefruit Rum Martini - Substitute vodka with Bacardi grapefruit rum or other white rum.
    • Grapefruit Margarita Martini - Substitute vodka with tequila.
    • Grapefruit Martini with St-Germain - Add ½ ounce of St. Germain Elderflower liqueur.

    Large Batch

Use the servings option in the recipe card to increase the number of servings to how many martinis you want to make. Add the ingredients to a pitcher and stir them together. Refrigerate until serving.

What to Serve With a Grapefruit Martini

    • Garnishes - Grapefruit or lime slices or a twist of the peel. Fresh basil or rosemary are great herbs for garnishing a grapefruit cocktail.
    • Charcuterie - The tartness of the martini goes nicely with meat and cheese.
    • Appetizers - Crescent roll taco ring, air fried jalapeno poppers, or spinach prosciutto cups.
    • Party Food - Make some pizza, hot dogs, or kabobs in an air fryer.
