This Sparkling Mango Mojito is a fruity take on the classic mojito. Traditional tequila, lime and mint leaves are sweetened with mango juice & livened up with sparkling water. A tasty, agave drink that will tickle your taste buds.

Move over mojito, this Sparkling Mango Mojito is in town! What a fantastic cocktail! I first found out about this drink from a really cool lounge that my husband and I visited over the holidays in Savannah, GA. It was called the Alley Cat and it was definitely not your ordinary bar! First, it truly was in an alley, which we had to walk down to find the door. Behind the door was a flight of stairs that led to the basement of the building. Reminiscent of a speakeasy during the prohibition period.

What we found when we got there was a sophisticated but cozy bar with comfortable booths and tables as well as a long bar that was stocked with everything you could imagine. And the bartenders were the friendliest most informative ones I've met. Then we're handed a 44-page newspaper menu, what they call their quarterly rag, with a tagline that says We love booze, and so do you.

It's a really cool menu with stories of different well-known figures who loved to drink, like Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart and Jack Kerouac to name a few. They also had a list of drinks under each type of liquor, including this Sparkling Mango Mojito, which they called La Noche Loca, along with flights of rums, cognacs and other liqueurs. I think I could go there for a year and not have the same cocktail twice.

In English, La Noche Loca, means A Crazy Night. I'm not sure how many you would have to drink to have a crazy night but they are good enough to do just that. This cocktail is a sweet, fruity twist on the traditional mojito. Now, I love my mojitos, like the popular Pineapple Coconut Mojito or the more subtle Cucumber Mojito, and living in south Florida you almost have to, so I knew this Mango Mojito was going to be good. Tequila, mint leaves and lime are sweetened with some agave nectar and mango juice then topped with a little lime sparkling water. It makes a little lighter cocktail and I love the effervescence.

It doesn't matter if it's the middle of winter, this drink is delicious any time of year. It will warm you up in the winter and cool you down in the summer. And it's easy to make with a can of mango juice, a few limes or lime juice from a bottle, a package of mint leaves, good tequila and a can of La Croix lime or mango sparkling water.
